Purpose:

To address immediate, critical aged care infrastructure needs in thin market settings where urgent funding is required to maintain or improve aged care services.

Objectives:

• Prevent immediate or imminent closure of aged care services by providing necessary infrastructure funding.
• Mitigate risks to health, safety, and wellbeing of older Australians and aged care workers.
• Support long-term aged care provision in areas with market failure by enabling new builds, expansions, or upgrades.
• Encourage cost-sharing, collaborative, innovative, and integrated approaches in addressing market failures.

Target Beneficiaries:

• Aged care service providers at risk of closure or facing critical infrastructure challenges.
• Older Australians relying on aged care services in thin market or underserved areas.
• Providers of last resort in regions with a history of unmet aged care needs.

Eligibility:

• Applicants must be invited by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.
• Invitation is issued directly by the department via email; automated notifications do not constitute an invitation.
• Only invited organizations meeting eligibility criteria can apply.

Application Process:

• Applications are submitted through the GrantConnect portal by the specified closing date.
• Applicants must complete the application form and attach all required documents.
• Confirmation of submission is sent via automated email; if not received within 48 hours, applicants should contact the department.
