Objectives:
- Provide financial support to CHSP providers to respond to unforeseen and exceptional circumstances.
- Address emergencies such as natural disasters, WHO-declared pandemics, vital equipment failure, sudden fuel price increases.
- Support recurrent critical needs related to provider viability or service shortages due to CHSP provider withdrawals.
- Ensure continuity of care and service availability for CHSP clients.
Target Beneficiaries:
- Existing CHSP providers with executed Whole of Government grant agreements expiring 30 June 2025 or 30 June 2027.
- Non-CHSP providers invited by the department, including approved Residential Aged Care/Home Care Package providers, Department of Veterans’ Affairs providers, NDIS providers, and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.
- Providers facing emergency funding needs or critical recurrent funding needs due to viability or service gaps.
Application Process:
- Invitation-only application process; unsolicited applications are not accepted.
- Eligible providers are identified by the department and invited to apply.
- Application forms are emailed to invited providers.
- Completed applications and attachments must be submitted by the specified closing date via email.
- Applicants receive email confirmation of submission; contact department if no confirmation within 24 hours.
Key Features:
- Grant period: 19 December 2024 to 30 April 2027.
- Total funding available: up to AUD 20 million.
- Funding amounts: minimum AUD 25,000 (GST exclusive); maximum AUD 250,000 (GST exclusive) for ongoing funding; exceptions possible for emergency or viability/service shortage cases.
- Funding categories include: one-off emergency funding and recurrent funding for critical needs.
- Not intended for service demand growth or expansion.
- Managed by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.
