Program Overview

This grant opportunity is designed to provide financial supplementation to eligible not-for-profit CSOs already receiving Indigenous Advancement Strategy (IAS) grants. This funding addresses increased staff wage pressures and high inflation rates impacting these organisations.

Key features and objectives:

  • Funded with $190 million over four years (2022-23 to 2025-26) by the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA).
  • Supports CSOs delivering IAS-funded activities that were current as of 31 October 2022.
  • Funding amounts and grant durations depend on the existing IAS agreements, a percentage of current IAS funding, and service delivery location, with higher supplementation for remote and very remote areas.
  • The grant aims to sustain community service delivery by offsetting economic pressures on CSOs.

Target beneficiaries:

  • Not-for-profit community sector organisations affected by Fair Work Commission minimum wage decisions and inflation.
  • Organisations delivering eligible IAS grant activities linked directly to community service delivery.

Application process:

  • No application submission is required from eligible CSOs.
  • Eligibility is determined by NIAA based on existing IAS grant agreements as of 31 October 2022.
  • NIAA may request additional information if needed.
  • Annual grant rounds will be conducted to update eligible organisations and reflect economic changes, with possible smaller rounds as required.

Grant timeframe:

  • Earliest start date is 23 May 2023.
  • The grant closes on 30 June 2026.

This grant opportunity is demand-driven and covers multiple Australian states and territories including ACT, NSW, VIC, SA, WA, QLD, NT, and TAS. Contact details and further guidelines are provided by NIAA for support and inquiries.
