Program Overview

This program is designed to strengthen and sustain the Indigenous visual arts sector. Key details include:

Objectives:

  • Support a professional, viable, and ethical Indigenous visual arts industry.
  • Promote strong participation and economic opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Encourage the continued production, exhibition, critique, purchase, and collection of Indigenous visual art.

Target Beneficiaries:

  • Organisations eligible include Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Corporations registered under relevant legislation.
  • Entities established through Commonwealth, State, or Territory legislation.
  • Australian incorporated companies, companies limited by guarantee, incorporated associations.
  • Publicly funded research organisations and government bodies at state, territory, or local levels.
  • Organisations must have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for GST if required.
  • Must have no overdue acquittals or serious breaches related to Australian Government funding.

Application Process:

  • This is a non-application based process; eligible organisations do not need to submit an application.
  • Funding is allocated through a closed non-competitive process.

  • Funding supports activities commencing after 1 July 2025.
  • The program is managed by the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts.
