Market Adjustment Program

Objectives:

• Support residential aged care providers identified as at risk.
• Assist providers that are strategically important, including those operating in thin markets.
• Improve business capability and operations of providers.
• Prevent critical failures and support orderly sale or closure where necessary.

Target Beneficiaries:

• Approved residential aged care service providers in Australia.
• Includes National Aboriginal and Torres-Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care (NATSIFAC) residential providers and local government residential providers.
• Providers must be invited to apply by the department and identified as at risk by the Aged Care Safety and Quality Commission and/or the department.

Key Features:

• Funding is provided through three streams:
  1. Improvement of Business Operations
  2. Sale or Closure
  3. Critical Failure
• Grant amounts and stream allocation are determined case-by-case based on risk profile and value for money.
• Total funding available is AUD 112,099,000.
• Only providers invited by the department can apply for the specific stream they are invited to.

Application Process:

• Providers must receive an official invitation to apply from the department.
• Applications must be submitted online by the specified closing date (30 May 2026).
• Applicants must submit a completed application form with necessary attachments (max 2MB per attachment, no compressed files).
• An automated email confirmation with a Submission Reference ID is sent upon receipt.
