MRFF – CHM – 2025 Cardiovascular Health Grant Opportunity

Objectives:

• Support medical research and innovation projects that reduce cardiovascular disease and stroke incidence.
• Develop and implement early, effective preventive health interventions.
• Co-design culturally secure prevention strategies with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
• Conduct Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials for novel devices and therapies.
• Undertake large-scale multiomics research to improve understanding of recovery and survivorship in cardiovascular disease and stroke.

• Australians affected by cardiovascular disease and stroke.
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through culturally secure health strategies.

• Four research streams focusing on prevention, clinical trials, multiomics research, and culturally secure interventions.
• Total funding available: AUD 24 million.
• Individual grants range from AUD 0 to 5 million.
• Project timeframes vary by stream, from 5 to 7 years.
• Only approved MRFF Eligible Organisations can apply.
• Applications must be submitted electronically via NHMRC’s Sapphire system.
• Minimum data submission deadline: July 16, 2025.
• Final application deadline: August 13, 2025.
