MRFF – DAACM – 2025 Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Grant Opportunity

is a funding program administered by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) on behalf of the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care. It aims to support medical research and innovation to improve the quality of life for Australians as they age, aligned with the Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Mission Roadmap and Implementation Plan.

Objectives:

• Support implementation research addressing inequalities in prevention uptake among vulnerable populations:
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Rural, regional, and remote populations
  • Culturally and linguistically diverse populations
• Conduct research to understand barriers, enablers, and impacts of adopting high-quality care components for older Australians across various care settings and population groups.

Target Beneficiaries:

• Older Australians, especially vulnerable groups facing health inequalities
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
• People in rural, regional, and remote areas
• Culturally and linguistically diverse populations

Key Features:

• Total funding pool of AUD 24.3 million
• Individual grants ranging from AUD 0 to 5 million
• Research outcomes aimed at extending healthy, active years of life and improving best practice care implementation
• Grant activity timeframe up to 5 years
• Applications accepted only from approved MRFF Eligible Organisations
• Electronic submission via NHMRC’s Sapphire online system
• Minimum data submission deadline: 23 July 2025, 5:00 pm ACT time
• Final application close date: 20 August 2025, 5:00 pm ACT time
• Questions accepted until 13 August 2025, 1:00 pm ACT time

• Applicants must be from MRFF Eligible Organisations listed by NHMRC
