Program Context and Objectives:
- Incorporated into the Quality Use of Diagnostics, Therapeutics and Pathology Program (QUDTP) from 1 July 2024 as part of the 2023-24 Budget Measure "A Modern and Clinically Appropriate Medicare Benefits Schedule."
- Aims to invest in projects that support the pathology sector and relevant stakeholders to collaborate on innovative approaches.
- Focus on improving pathology-related practices, enhancing economic efficiency, sustainability, and quality delivery of Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) pathology items.
- Targets improvements among requesters/referrers, providers, and consumers of pathology services.
Target Beneficiaries:
- Entities with an Australian Business Number (ABN), registered for GST, permanent residents of Australia, and with an Australian financial institution account.
- Eligible entity types include Indigenous Corporations, Companies, Corporate Commonwealth Entities, Corporate State or Territory Entities, Cooperatives, Incorporated Associations, and Partnerships.
- Consortia applications accepted if led by an eligible lead organization accountable to the Commonwealth.
Application Process:
- Applications must be submitted via the online application form (Version 2, published 12 June 2025).
- Multiple applications allowed if each meets the Quality Use of Pathology objectives.
- Attachments limited to 2MB each; multiple documents should be combined into a single file.
- Automated email confirmation with Submission Reference ID provided upon submission.
- Closing date: 7 July 2025, 2:00 pm ACT local time.
