Objectives and Themes:
- Address systemic racial barriers in education, healthcare, justice, public services, employment, and public life.
- Promote research and education to increase data availability and community insights on race relations.
- Raise public awareness of systemic and institutional barriers affecting racialized communities.
- Foster cultural and intercultural community-building through dialogue on race and religion.
Expected Results:
- Increase public awareness of race-related public policy issues and Canada’s cultural diversity.
- Enhance knowledge and capacity within communities to address racism and discrimination.
- Support projects that may influence public policy or offer innovative community mobilization strategies.
Target Beneficiaries:
- Canadian registered charities, non-profits, First Nations, Inuit, Métis organizations.
- Canadian non-federal public institutions (municipalities, schools, universities).
- Labour organizations.
- Excludes for-profit organizations, federal institutions, individuals, grassroots organizations, and those solely engaged in political activity.
Application Process:
- Two-step process: Expression of Interest (EOI) followed by Full Application.
- EOI submitted via CRRF’s SurveyMonkey Apply platform between June 25 and August 29, 2025.
- Successful EOIs invited to submit Full Applications by December 16, 2025.
- Decisions on funding announced by early March 2026.
- Applicants must submit financial statements and detailed project plans.
Key Features:
- Funding ranges from $25,000 to $125,000 per project.
- Funds disbursed in three installments: 40% at contract signing, 40% after interim report, 20% after final report.
- Eligible expenses include personnel, project costs, purchased services, evaluation, and up to 15% overhead.
- Ineligible expenses include direct financial assistance to individuals, political activities, real estate, medical services, and alcoholic beverages.
- Projects must publicly acknowledge CRRF funding and comply with reporting and recognition requirements.
