Startup Deep Tech Ventures Lab

This is a 6-month co-creation funding and acceleration program designed to build and scale high-value, IP-driven deep tech startups. It aims to bridge the gap between technology development and commercialization, accelerating the speed to market for deep tech innovations across various verticals such as AI, advanced manufacturing, and more. The program is fully supported by Sunway iLabs and strategic partners and is offered free to participants.

Objectives:

• Accelerate deep tech innovation through technology diffusion, co-creation, and investment.
• Fast-track adoption by partnering with global growth-stage startups expanding into Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
• Facilitate co-creation with local experts, entrepreneurs, corporates, and regulatory bodies for rapid market entry.
• Provide access to the FutureX Deeptech Fund and ecosystem for sustainable growth.

Target Beneficiaries:

• Prospective co-founders ready to commit full-time with a founder mindset.
• Academics and researchers owning or having access to relevant IP (TRL 7+), committed to long-term R&D.
• Early-stage deep tech startups/companies with strong IP defensibility, pre-revenue or early revenue (under USD 1 million), ready to expand into Malaysia.

Application Process:

• Prospective co-founders apply via a dedicated form.
• Deep tech startups, companies, or researchers apply through a separate application form.
• Full-time commitment from July to December is required, including attendance at key physical events in Malaysia.
• Application deadline for the current cycle is 7 July 2025.
