  • Support practically oriented research projects aimed at saving lives during birth.
  • Prioritize interventions on the day of birth, including preventing stillbirths.
  • Promote innovations in education and implementation for maternal and newborn care.
  • Encourage projects with long-term practical value that can inspire advancements beyond local impact.
  • Support collaborative scale-up of proven concepts.

Target Beneficiaries:

  • Projects conducted in focus countries: Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi, Bangladesh, India, and Nepal.
  • Applicants with practical experience in low-resource settings and strong local partner involvement.

Application Process:

  • Applications must be submitted through the Foundation’s online platform.
  • Deadlines are April 1 and October 1 annually.
  • Only two applications per institution/organization are accepted.
  • Applicants should present a realistic budget, including up to 10% for institutional overhead.
  • Projects exceeding the grant amount should demonstrate potential for additional funding.

  • Approximately 20 projects funded yearly.
  • Maximum grant amount is USD 50,000 per project, with an average award around USD 30,000.
