Program Overview

This program is a funding program by the Embassy of Japan aimed at supporting community development projects that directly benefit grassroots people. The program has been implemented globally since 1989 in 141 countries.

Objectives:

  • Provide financial assistance to non-profit, development-oriented organizations.
  • Support community development projects that improve human security at the grassroots level.

Application Process:

  • Applications are accepted year-round.
  • Selection occurs twice a year after deadlines on 15th February and 15th July.
  • The selection process takes at least six months after each deadline.
  • Applicants must submit a typed, printed, and signed Concept Paper with all required information and documents.
  • Submission is by postal service or in person at the Embassy of Japan in Uganda.
  • Official results are communicated via email after selection.
