Objectives:
- Support well-defined collaborative research projects across arts and humanities within AHRC remit.
- Enable researchers to establish or enhance effective working relationships within and beyond arts and humanities, UK and internationally.
- Provide career development opportunities for less experienced researchers through collaboration with senior researchers.
- Maximise research impact by promoting communication, dissemination, and knowledge transfer beyond academia.
Target Beneficiaries:
- UK-based researchers at eligible research organisations.
- Project lead and at least one project co-lead jointly managing and developing the project.
- Collaborative teams including multiple institutions, disciplines, sectors, and international partners.
- Less experienced researchers seeking career development.
- Beneficiaries outside academia who can apply research outcomes.
Application Process:
- Applications submitted via UKRI Funding Service by project lead; all team members contribute.
- Project lead must be postdoctoral or equivalent with appropriate skills.
- Full economic cost (FEC) between £300,000 and £1.5 million; AHRC funds 80% of FEC.
- International project co-leads supported with specific funding rules.
- Assessment includes eligibility check, expert review by three reviewers, applicant response stage, and panel moderation.
- Assessment criteria: vision, approach, team capability, ethics/RRI, resources/cost justification.
- No closing date; applications reviewed continuously with decisions within nine months.
- Applicants must comply with UKRI policies including equality, diversity, inclusion, and trusted research principles.
