The program is designed to equip participants with both fundamental and advanced entrepreneurship skills, focusing on food security to foster economic development and combat food insecurity.
Key features and objectives:
- Promote entrepreneurship and innovation with a focus on food security and economic development.
- Support young entrepreneurs in Egypt, Iraq, and Lebanon.
- Provide knowledge and skills to identify high-potential business opportunities in agribusiness.
- Encourage development of innovative, sustainable businesses addressing food insecurity challenges, including climate-smart agricultural practices.
- Facilitate job creation and resilience-building in the agrifood sector.
Program structure:
- Phase 1 (July to October 2024): Online training for about 100 participants covering entrepreneurship fundamentals, agribusiness, self-paced courses, peer discussions, assignments, and expert webinars.
- Phase 2 (October to December 2024): Training for about 20 top participants on entrepreneurial tools and best practices to devise solutions for food security.
- Phase 3 (December 2024 to March 2025): About 10 top performers develop ready-to-launch business blueprints with mentorship and coaching, including a possible intensive workshop.
Target beneficiaries:
- Young entrepreneurs (18-45 years) from Egypt, Iraq, and Lebanon.
- Individuals passionate about making a positive community impact.
- Those with good English skills and interest or experience in agribusiness, food security, or entrepreneurship.
- Committed to dedicating 2-4 hours weekly to the program.

- The program is free, financially supported by the Government and People of Japan.
- Participants receive a UNITAR certificate upon successful completion.
