Innovation and Technology Fund for Application in Elderly and Rehabilitation Care

The fund aims to subsidize eligible elderly and rehabilitation service units to procure, rent, or trial technology products that improve the quality of life for service users and reduce the burden on care staff and carers. The scope has expanded to include technology products suitable for household use.

Objectives:

• Improve quality of life for elderly and persons with disabilities through technology.
• Reduce workload and pressure on care staff and carers.
• Promote adoption of innovative technology in elderly and rehabilitation care services.

Target Beneficiaries:

• NGOs and private organizations receiving subsidies from the Social Welfare Department (SWD) providing residential care, community care, and day rehabilitation services for elderly and persons with disabilities.
• From Tranche 8 onwards, non-subsidized private and self-financing residential care homes for elderly and persons with disabilities are also eligible.

Application Process:

• Applications are accepted in tranches; the latest (Tranche 11) runs from March 31 to June 30, 2025.
• Eligible organizations can apply for procurement, rental, or trial use of technology products.
• Application forms and guidance notes are provided online for different types of applications (procurement, rental, lending, trial use).
• An Assessment Panel reviews applications and recommends grant amounts.
• Claim certificates and payment authorization forms are required for subsidy disbursement.
