New Industrialisation and Technology Training Programme

This funding scheme under the New Industrialisation Support Scheme of the Innovation and Technology Fund aims to subsidize local companies on a 1:1 matching basis to train their staff in advanced technologies, particularly those related to "New Industrialisation."

Objectives:

• To build capabilities and enhance competitiveness of local companies.
• To promote advanced technology training aligned with new industrialisation trends.

Target Beneficiaries:

• Companies registered in Hong Kong under the Business Registration Ordinance.
• Non-government and non-subvented organizations.
• Employees who are Hong Kong permanent residents under full-time employment with the company and have relevant background/experience for the training.
• Each company has a funding ceiling of HK$250,000 per financial year.

Key Features:

• Supports two types of training courses: Public Courses (open to the public, registered by course providers) and Tailor-made Courses (designed for specific companies).
• Course providers must have at least two years of relevant experience and provide technology training.
• The program is administered by the Vocational Training Council (VTC).

Application Process:

• Companies apply for training grants via an online system.
• Course providers apply for course registration online.
• Applications for tailor-made courses and training grants are submitted by the concerned company.
• Reimbursement and confirmation of training completion are handled through specified forms and procedures.

The program was updated with new policies effective from August 1, 2025, and further enhancements were made in May 2024 to streamline administration and application processes.
