Funding Scheme for Experiential Programmes at Innovation and Entrepreneurial Bases

Objectives:

• To enrich Hong Kong young people's understanding of innovation and entrepreneurial bases in Mainland provinces and municipalities.
• To provide insights into relevant policies and supporting measures on innovation and entrepreneurship in the Mainland.
• To encourage young people to explore entrepreneurial opportunities in the large Mainland market.
• To enhance understanding of the operating modes, support services, and entrepreneurial atmosphere of these bases.
• To introduce the structure and development situation of relevant sectors in the Mainland.

Target Beneficiaries:

• Youth aged between 18 and 39.
• Hong Kong Permanent Residents or holders of valid Hong Kong resident identity cards studying full-time in Hong Kong.
• Young people interested in starting a business but who do not yet have a clear plan.
• Each eligible participant can join no more than two experiential programmes under the current funding round.

Programme Features:

• Organised by funded NGOs in Hong Kong.
• Experiential programmes held at innovation and entrepreneurial bases in Mainland provinces and municipalities.
• Activities include introduction to local entrepreneurial environment and policies, short-term internships, job shadowing in start-ups.
• Participation in or observation of entrepreneurial competitions or related activities.
• Exposure to the entrepreneurial atmosphere and support services available at the bases.

Application Process:

• Interested young people apply through funded NGOs listed on the Youth Development Commission (YDC) website.
• The list of funded NGOs and their activities is available on the YDC website for reference.
• Participants select programmes organised by these NGOs and apply accordingly.

This scheme runs under the “HYAB Funding Scheme for Experiential Programmes at Innovation and Entrepreneurial Bases (2024-27)” and aims to foster entrepreneurial spirit and practical experience among Hong Kong youth by leveraging Mainland innovation hubs.
