Cleaner Production Partnership Programme

Objectives:

• Encourage and facilitate Hong Kong-owned factories in Hong Kong and Guangdong Province to adopt cleaner production technologies and practices.
• Support upgrading of traditional industries and achieving green transformation through new cleaner production technologies.

Target Beneficiaries:

• Hong Kong-registered businesses under the Business Registration Ordinance (Cap. 310) with factories in Hong Kong or Guangdong.
• Factories in sectors with substantial air pollutant emissions, high use of environmentally damaging chemicals/materials, or high fuel and energy consumption.
• Priority industries:
  • Chemical products
  • Food and beverage
  • Furniture
  • Metal and metal products
  • Non-metallic mineral products
  • Paper and paper products
  • Printing and publishing
  • Textiles
• Other industries may apply subject to Project Management Committee approval.

Key Features:

• Funding covers 50% of project costs, up to HKD 650,000; up to HKD 750,000 for projects using new technologies developed or co-developed by Hong Kong institutions.
• Eligible projects must adopt new cleaner production technologies listed in the official Technology List or meet approval criteria.
• Open for application year-round.
• Implementation agent: Hong Kong Productivity Council.

Application Process:

• Applicants complete and submit the application form online with required supporting documents via email to the Secretariat.
• Applications are reviewed and approved based on eligibility, technology, and industry sector criteria.

This program aims to promote environmental sustainability and industrial innovation by financially supporting Hong Kong businesses in adopting advanced cleaner production technologies to reduce pollution and resource consumption.
