Cyberport Market Development Support Scheme

Objectives:

• To support start-ups in pursuing growth opportunities beyond Hong Kong.
• To facilitate market development activities that help start-ups scale and succeed internationally.

Target Beneficiaries:

• Incubatees, grantees, or alumni from Cyberport's CIP and/or CCMF.
• Applicants must apply within 5 years after completing the relevant CIP or CCMF program.
• Applicants should not have raised total funding equal to or exceeding US$10 million at the time of claim.
• Individual CCMF grantees must incorporate a limited liability company in Hong Kong before applying.
• Applicants must not be organizers or service providers of the market development activities they seek funding for.

Application Process:

• Applicants submit their MDSS application within the eligibility period.
• Applications undergo eligibility checking and vetting.
• Enquiries can be directed to mdss@cyberport.hk.
• Detailed guides and notes are provided for applicants.

Key Features:

• Provides up to HK$200,000 subsidy per applicant.
• Covers up to 75% of eligible market development expenses within a 24-month period from the first activity date.
• Eligible reimbursable items include delegation missions, exhibition/conference/event fees (applicant must be an exhibitor), landing services (legal, professional, company registration, certification), training courses for scaling, and online/offline marketing services (capped at HK$50,000).
• The scheme supports a wide range of market development activities to help start-ups expand internationally.

This scheme is a strategic support tool to help Cyberport-supported start-ups seize global market opportunities and accelerate their growth beyond Hong Kong.
