Farm Improvement Scheme

Objectives:

• Provide direct grants to local farmers to improve farming efficiency and productivity.
• Support sustainable agricultural development by enabling access to modern farming tools.

Target Beneficiaries:

• Individual farmers who are residents or registered companies/organizations in Hong Kong operating crop farms with commercial production of at least 1 dau chung (d.c.) or licensed livestock farms.
• Eligible farmers and their spouses can apply individually or through group applications.
• Each eligible farmer and spouse can apply for one grant per production unit that has not previously received a grant; if owning or operating multiple units, they may apply for up to two grants.

Application Process:

• Applicants must provide proof that their farm is operational for commercial production.
• Applications can be made individually or as a group on behalf of eligible farmers.
• Grants cover up to 90% of the cost of eligible equipment/materials, with applicants bearing at least 10%.
• Maximum grant per production unit is HKD 50,000; for multiple units, up to HKD 100,000.
• Applicants purchase equipment from a pre-approved list; suppliers and maintenance service providers are listed for reference.
• Applications require submission of specific forms and adherence to guidelines available on the official website.
