Information Technology Development Matching Fund Scheme for Travel Agents

Objectives:

• To support small- and medium-sized travel agents in adopting information technology.
• To upgrade productivity and service quality.
• To strengthen competitiveness in local and overseas markets.
• To enhance, innovate, and develop travel agents' businesses through IT.

Target Beneficiaries:

• All licensed travel agents in Hong Kong.
• Initially focused on small- and medium-sized travel agents, now expanded to cover all travel agents.

Funding and Background:

• Launched in fiscal year 2016/2017 with an initial HK$10 million.
• Additional HK$30 million allocated in 2018/2019 due to positive feedback.
• Further HK$30 million top-up approved in 2023 to expand coverage and support more agents.

Application Process:

• Applications accepted from 8 April 2024 onwards.
• Applicants must carefully read the Guide to Application.
• Applications are submitted online via the official website.
• An independent Vetting Committee reviews and approves subsidy applications.
• The Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong (TIC) acts as the implementation partner and secretariat.

• The scheme helps travel agents adopt IT solutions to improve business operations.
• TIC maintains a Register of IT service providers to assist agents in sourcing IT services.
• The scheme has benefited over 100 travel agents since inception.
